I always get attracted to food spots that are not near the streets. Which is why I instantly fell in love when I got to dine at Bintana Coffee House located in 181-K Elizabeth Pond Street a few weeks ago. My friends from Cebu Blogging Community and I had our monthly get together where we meet with new and old members, and basically talk anything about blogging.
What drew me instantly to this place is their cozy ambiance. Everything about the location, the table setting, the friendly staff, and even the decoration screams tranquility. It’s a perfect go-to place if you want to dine in piece, away from the usual busy restaurants in the city.
And guess what? They have great WiFi connection too!
And just when I thought I’ve had enough reason why I love this place, I was instantly amazed how affordable their food choices are. The owner/barista/waitress/cashier, Ms. Sarah Javier, offered us her family’s original recipes. Every food that you eat in Bintana Coffee House reflects to everything she learned from her family.
I arrived earlier than most of my friends, so I ordered myself first their seafood palabok. I love any seafood dishes so this dish instantly became a favorite.
One of my friends, Rome of Basta Bisaya, ordered this Pork Binagoongan with buwad. To those who have no idea what this Filipino dish is, it’s basically dried fish and a pork dish in delicious anchovies sauce. I wanted to order this one as well but I was already full when he ordered this. I better try it the next time I visit Bintana Coffee House.
After our discussion, we were served with their spaghetti specialty. For a pasta lover like me, their spaghetti dish is excellent.
One of the best things in Bintana Coffee House is the way they serve their coffee. Sarah explained to us some of the methods of preparing coffee. She even let us try one of their brewed coffees!
I am not a coffee fan but I can definitely tell that it was good.
I would love to revisit this place one of these days. I highly recommend dining to Bintana Coffee House if you ever find yourself in the streets of Cebu City.
